Established in 1997, Blandford Dental creates high quality dentures for NHS and private dentists. We are based in the heart of Sussex and have over 27 years of experience supplying dental appliances throughout the UK.
There are many aspects a technician must consider when making dental appliances.
Appearance
The correct size and shape of teeth are carefully chosen to match the shape of the face and to comfortably sit alongside any existing teeth for a natural appearance.
Fit
All models for partial dentures are surveyed so that the denture fits snug around existing teeth. This will prevent movement or having uncomfortably tight dentures.
Comfort
Most importantly the denture needs to follow the contour of the palate, having a thick plate means the wearer might not have enough tongue space which could produce a speech impediment or that the denture might be too heavy, alternatively the plate being too thin could fracture in the near future.
These three criteria are considered when making dental appliances paired with good communication with dentists. Together we will have patients walking away happily.

Sports Mouthguards and Soft Night Guards
Gumshields come in 4mm thickness in various colours
Night guards are available in 2mm or 3mm thickness
All require opposing models to be sent for manufacture
Cosmetic Dentures
Characterising teeth and colour toning the gum work to match photos supplied of patient’s existing teeth.
Gums comes in various shades including ethnic gum colours.
Chrome, Full or Partial Dentures
Chromes come in many designs, for example full plates or skeletal. They are rigid and tight fitting around the teeth and tissue, including clasps which prevent movement.
Tooth Whitening Trays
Tooth whitening trays are available, spaced or non-spaced.
Impressions will be required for manufacture.
Myerson Duraflex flexible dentures
Duraflex is a light weight flexible thermoplastic material for a natural look for a comfortable stain resistant denture. Flexible dentures come in a wide range of shade of pinks, including ethnic and clear.
Tissue borne clasps also come in a range of pinks. Tooth borne clasps come in any 16 vita range tooth shades including clear
Orthodontic Retainers & Bite Raisers
Thin plastic retainers to prevent further movement post orthodontic treatment. Impressions will be required for manufacture.
Hard acrylic bite raisers are available to prevent bruxism and headaches. Impressions and wax squashes will be needed for manufacture.
